She paints in oil, acrylic and watercolor. She is a signature artist of the West Virginia Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Her formal education was in Advertising and Illustration from SUNY at Farmingdale, NY. She has taken workshops with Skip Lawrence, Robert Burridge, Linda Kemp, Sterling Edwards and Pat Dews. Monica enjoys changing the colors of nature in her paintings, sometimes making a fantasy out of reality. Looking at grassy fields and tall trees invoke an emotional excitement. This excitement is what makes Monica want to paint and share this fresh new way of viewing the world. Every medium she selects, every surface she paints on, every tool used takes her in a different direction. It all depends on the emotions Monica feels that day and what inspires her.
