Kate Thomas, 70 years old, has been doing watercolors since her retirement from a career in Education six years ago. She finds great joy in returning to art as her career in teaching and coaching and raising a daughter did not allow much time for it. She feels she is new to the game even though she has taken lessons and attended some workshops. Each painting is a new learning experience and perhaps one step closer to a personal style. Kate resides in Marshall Virginia with her husband, her two Australian Shepherds and a flock of chickens. She enjoys gardening, volunteering, visiting her children and grandchildren and spending time in the summer on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
