My paintings celebrate the beauty of ordinary objects, rendering them with careful attention to detail. Through the lens of realism, I explore the hidden details in familiar, often overlooked subjects. A fascination with the tangible connections we have to our past and present guides my practice. I believe that even the most mundane objects we hold dear, are a window into who we are. By isolating these objects, I invite viewers to pause and appreciate their quiet and complex beauty, transporting them back to a moment in time and to enjoy the details they might usually overlook. I work from self-composed photographs, playing with light and shadows, while always honoring negative space to allow each subject to be the hero. Painting in oils allows me to layer and blend colors with a precision that mirrors real-life, with a bold and graphic influence.
