Living on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley, Jane Porter, rises early in the morning and watches the sun come up. The light and and clouds and the mountains look different to her every day, every hour. She has been working with oils for a long time but says that painting outdoors or in her studio - learning to paint cows and chickens, barns and mountains - is more fun than anything she can think of.
