As an encaustic artist, Linda Lopez finds inspiration in the ever-changing landscapes of nature. Linda uses the unique properties of melted wax and other artistic mediums to create dynamic layers that capture the essence of the environment around her. Her interplay of colors and textures echoes the beauty and complexity of her surroundings. Linda also uses encaustic and other artistic mediums with her photography to create captivating mixed media works of art. She aims to develop a sense of tranquility and contemplation through her encaustic works, inviting viewers to connect with the natural world.
A self-taught artist, Linda stays connected to a network of like-minded artists and continues to educate herself using encaustic medium. She has painted most of her life using oils, pastels, and acrylics. After being introduced to encaustic 7 years ago she decided this medium was how she wanted to express her artistic voice. Linda is a member of the International Encaustic Artists (IEA). Before her recent move to Virginia, she was also a member of the IEA chapter, Florida Wax. She maintained a presence at the Hub Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Linda additionally showed her work individually and with the Florida Wax group at the Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach FL, Art Lofts in St. Pete Florida, and the Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota, Florida.
Teaching and demonstrating encaustic are another area of enjoyment for her, as she loves to share the techniques and the beauty of this ancient art form. Linda offers private lessons where she guides her students through the basic techniques of this versatile medium. She takes pride in teaching students to harness their creativity and explore their artistic voice using encaustic medium. Currently under construction, she can be reached on her website lindalopezartist.com, or via email at lindalopezartist@gmail.com. If you follow Instagram, she can be found @lindalopezartist.
