Patrick won an art contest in the 3rd grade with an illustration of a story that was read by the teacher. This was a state wide competition. This is when it was discovered that Patrick had inherited his grandmother's artistic traits. He helped his grandmother paint ceramics at her Ceramic shop in Erie PA. where he grew up. His grandmother enjoyed painting in oils. Art has always been a part of Patrick's life and remains his primary hobby . Patrick's peferred medium is drawing with ink and oil pastel although, the artist has explored many mediums including glass blowing and water color. Patrick creates art for personal gratification and passion for drawing. He has not entered many art competitions or juryed events however, Patrick was part of an Artist Guild when he lived in Tacoma Wa. and sold several pieces there. While living in Tacoma Patrick entered a piece every year in the Tacoma Art for Aids auction where his work was purchased each year.
