Karen Narusewicz

Karen Narusewicz is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania. She relocated to Virginia in 2016 and is currently a Winchester, Virginia based abstract artist. She works in acrylics, fluid acrylic, inks, encaustic and mixed media.
Karen began her artistic journey in 2013, exploring various techniques using acrylic paints. In 2023 she discovered encaustic painting which has since become a key focus of her work.  Karen's creative process with acrylics and inks involves layering colors on canvas and manipulating them with tools and water. Similarly, her encaustic technique involves layering molten beeswax, natural resin, and pigment onto wood panels, then fusing them with heat to create unique pieces.
Her work has been shown at Art Shows in Pennsylvania and has been displayed and sold at winery’s in Virginia. Karen’s work is inspired by  the ebb and flow of ocean waves, reflects the rhythmic movement of water, symbolizing the natural cycles of life.
