Susan Thornton

Susan Thornton is a self-taught artist that began creating art in multiple media (oil, acrylic, graphite, watercolor, gouache, ink, clay, and mixed media) in childhood and continuing through her early twenties. She took a 35 year break from artistic endeavors to pursue a full-time career as an aerospace engineer and to raise a family. She resumed her artistic journey in 2017 beginning with classes at the Art League School in Alexandria Virginia. Since then, she has focused her work on watercolor painting, gouache, graphite, and ink. She resides in Arlington Virginia where she creates and displays her art and consults part-time as an engineer.
