After a long career in advertising (which he started as an illustrator) Mike has begun painting the cloudscapes that fill the skies of the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Clouds are perfect natural representations of the elements of art: color, form and texture, and are a particular challenge given that they are a standard of pure beauty that can't be truly equaled. It's rare that even a photograph can come up to this standard. But, through painting something else can be achieved and that is unique to the human understanding of creativity. Mike has shown his work at various galleries in the Washington Metro area and Memphis Tennessee. Additionally, Mike is a caricaturist. An avocation that helps pay the bills. He enjoys making fun of the famous and the near-famous in this way.
