After earning an Associate in Arts in Annapolis, Maryland, I planned on continuing my art education, but life intervened, and I relocated to beautiful Warrenton, Virginia. I immediately fell in love with the area as it was so like my home state of rural West Virginia. The comforting mountains, sleepy small towns, and refreshing waterways inspired me to continue painting even as a B.S. in Business and my subsequent career took me down another road. After ending a corporate career, I was able to immerse myself in my art, my first love.
My chosen medium is oil because of its viscosity and dry time, allowing me to manipulate the paint on the canvas to produce anything from transparent glazes to impasto. Every painting is an experiment, and oil is a forgiving medium. I enjoy all subject matter but am especially captivated with transparent and reflective objects. Reflections in windows and on still water change one's perspective and even point of reference. Light passing through glass and liquid is especially challenging and fun.
