Jim Halloran

BIOGRAPHY

Jim Halloran (b. 1983, Buffalo, NY) is a painter inspired by nature’s quiet rhythms - wind in the trees, water in motion, the shift from day to night. Trained under Maryann Kammer, he studied traditional realism before earning his BFA from the University at Buffalo in 2005.

Now based in Alexandria, VA, Jim’s work echoes the American Tonalists, layering oil paint with subtlety and depth. His award-winning paintings have been exhibited with the Washington Project for the Arts, the Bethesda Painting Awards, and Northern Virginia Magazine. His work is collected nationally, particularly in the DMV.
