Carol Rusaw

Dr. Carol Rusaw developed the idea for Art for the Spirit/Shop based on her love of humanities and social and behavioral studies, which include a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism, a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and a Doctor of Education in Adult Education and Human Resource Development. She also gained a deeper appreciation of the applications of this knowledge and skills through her experience as a draftsman-illustrator with the Air Force, an advertising copywriter with the Kansas City Star, teaching English to non-native speakers, training managers and supervisors in creating organizational and interpersonal change, and her consulting with government and non-profit organizations. Her oil paintings won an award of excellence in 2018 from the Manassas, Virginia OneLove artist competition and second place in the Artlist Artist of the Month, sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama. Her paintings have hung in the Prince William-Novant Healthcare Center Hospital in Manassas, Virginia and also the Monatclair Community Library in Dumphries, Virginia. A collection is currently housed at the Dreams of Paradise Gallery in Hilo, Hawaii.
