Artist Profile:
Lisa Mitchell is a Maryland artist who works in a variety of mediums. Over the years she has been juried into significant Plein Air Competitions and Invitational events including Plein Air Easton, Paint Annapolis, Plein Air Curacao, Wayne Plein Air, The Lighthouse Plein Air, East Beach Art Escape, Paint Staunton, The Olmsted Plein Air and most recently the Harford County Plein Air as well as the Warm Springs Gallery, “Artists Paint the Garden event|, to name a few.
She is a member of the prestigious Washington Society of Landscape Painters, Oil Painters of America and The American Impressionist Society. For ten years she held weekly plein air/studio instruction at the Zoll Studio School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
Lisa received her formal art education in Illustration and Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She began her career as an illustrator, switching to children’s portraiture and has since changed her focus to painting the landscape. Gallery affiliations include The Manor Mill Gallery in Monkton, Md. and the McBride Gallery in Annapolis. Lisa continues to exhibit in regional group and solo shows in Maryland.
