Cynthia describes herself as an "Act5" artist. Following her Federal career and approximately 10 years in a small business practice she decided to follow her own advice and began pursuing and refining her artistic passions by developing skills in expressive and mixed media abstract art. Her art often reflects feelings and emotions of experiences past and present.
Her artwork has appeared in numerous JURIED local shows including:
*Art at the Mill in Millwood, Va ('21,22,23) Fall and Spring shows; The Artists in Middleburg Gallery (21,22,23 & 24); The Alexandria Art League, '22 Art Uncorked and monthly juried 2023 and 2024 open shows; Falls Church Arts, Falls Church, Va ('20-24) and in Alexandria, Va. Del Ray Artisans '22.& 24 including in May 2022 awarded the Alma Thomas Award.
Cynthia's artist training includes numerous class instruction from McLean Project for the Arts, The Art League of Old Town and Falls Church Arts. In addition, she completed several in person workshops at the Arts of North Carolina's expos In Raligh, NC 2016-2020 as well as varied on-line instructional venues.
Her initial studio opened in 2020, and she currently is located in Studio 101, 307 East Annandale Rd., Falls Church as part of STUDIOS 307 (a miniature Art League environment). Cynthia and her husband Jerry, live in McLean. Cynthia supports various arts causes including Falls Church Arts where she frequently serves as a docent at the FCA gallery and she also she serves as a Board member at the McLean Project For the Arts.
