GWEN CASEY-HIGGINS lives, works and makes art in Clarke County, Virginia on a small farm along the banks of the Shenandoah River. The surrounding countryside and farm provide ample inspiration for her art.
Gwen is drawn to the landscape - from the sky to the mountains, to the water and trees, or an occasional cow - inspired by nature, color and light.
She works in a variety of mediums: clay and metal sculpture, printmaking, stained and fused-glass, pastels, but her main emphasis is oil painting.
She has worked as a volunteer for many years for Art at the Mill. In addition, she is an officer in Blandy Sketch Group, Founding Member of Blandy Plein Air, and member of Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
