Christy Dunkle moved to Clarke County, Virginia from Colorado in 2001. She began making mosaics in 2021, using natural materials in her work including slate, shale, and bark as well as found metal, colorful smalti, and hand-pulled filati. Christy's mosaics have been featured in art shows and in a variety of venues including Higher Art Gallery (Traverse City, MI), Maryland Federation of Art (Annapolis, MD) and Main Street Arts (Clifton Springs, NY). She sells jewelry and mosaics in local and regional shops and galleries in Berryville, VA; Alexandria, VA; and Wardensville, WV. Ms. Dunkle earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver.
